Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 30: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka offered special prayers at Nalla Pochamma temple in Hyderabad’s Praja Bhavan on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu and Kannada New Year.
PM Modi, President Murmu Extend Festival Greetings
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Mann Ki Baat program, extended greetings as the nation entered a vibrant month of multiple festivals. He emphasized that these celebrations reflect India’s unity in diversity, stating, “These festivals happen in different parts of the country, but they show how unity is woven into India’s diversity. We must keep strengthening this feeling of unity.”
The Prime Minister also read letters written to him in various languages, conveying Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, and Hindu New Year wishes from people across India.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended her warm greetings on Chaitra Shukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Navreh, and Sajibu Cheiraoba. In a post on X, she remarked that these festivals, which mark the arrival of spring and the New Year, symbolize India’s rich cultural unity. “These festivals infuse new energy and enthusiasm in the countrymen. On this occasion, I wish happiness and prosperity for all,” she added.
State Leaders Share Their Wishes
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin conveyed his wishes, calling for unity among southern states. Taking to social media, he wrote, “I wish a joyful #Ugadi to all my Telugu and Kannada-speaking Dravidian sisters and brothers as you welcome the New Year with hope and celebration.”
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who also serves as Rajya Sabha Chairman, extended his greetings for Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Cheti Chand, Chaitra Sukladi, Navreh, Chaitra Navratri, and Sajibu Cheiraoba. On social media, he wished for health, happiness, and success for all on the occasion of these traditional New Year festivals.
