The UAE has launched the largest phase of its humanitarian mission, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, to offer crucial relief aid to residents of Gaza. This operation is in line with the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to support the Palestinian people in their time of need.
Humanitarian Truce and the Relief Effort
Coinciding with the announcement of a humanitarian truce, which provides a window to ramp up relief efforts, the UAE dispatched a convoy of 20 trucks carrying over 200 tonnes of essential humanitarian aid to Gaza. The supplies include food, winter clothing, and other necessities aimed at assisting families suffering from dire conditions in the region.
Hamad Al Neyadi, the Head of the UAE Relief Mission, highlighted that this latest phase is the largest of its kind, further reflecting the UAE’s continued dedication to supporting the Palestinian people. He also emphasized that the operation is being executed in full coordination with local authorities to ensure the swift distribution of aid.
Progress of the Operation
Since its initiation, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has delivered a total of 156 aid convoys to Gaza, providing approximately 29,784 tonnes of humanitarian supplies. This effort has played a significant role in alleviating the hardships faced by Gaza’s residents, especially the most vulnerable, by addressing their immediate needs.
The UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts have been instrumental in alleviating the harsh winter conditions and the broader suffering caused by the ongoing crisis. These initiatives align with the UAE’s deep humanitarian responsibility and long-standing bonds with the Palestinian people.
Comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance
Beyond the relief convoys, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 includes multiple key initiatives. These include establishing a field hospital in Gaza, deploying a floating hospital in Arish, Egypt, and providing medical care through the transfer of critical cases to UAE hospitals. The operation also supports water-related projects, such as desalination plants in Rafah, Egypt, with a production capacity of two million gallons per day. Additionally, the “Birds of Goodness” initiative airdrops aid to northern Gaza, where access by land remains difficult.
Over the course of more than 441 days, the UAE has been tirelessly delivering aid through more than 500 airlifts, five strategic transport ships, and over 2,500 trucks crossing from Egypt into Gaza.
Conclusion
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 represents a significant humanitarian commitment by the UAE to mitigate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The UAE’s support has been vital in meeting the urgent needs of Gaza’s residents and continues to demonstrate the importance of sustained, collaborative humanitarian efforts in times of crisis.
