Rio de Janeiro [Brazil], July 5: The United Arab Emirates marked a significant milestone in youth engagement by introducing its pioneering ‘Youth Dialogue’ model to Brazil for the first time, coinciding with its broader participation in the BRICS Summit.
In collaboration with Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Museum of Tomorrow, the UAE organized a dynamic BRICS Youth Dialogue that brought together 40 Brazilian university students from four universities. The session focused on fostering future-oriented discussions about international cooperation, sustainability, and the crucial role of youth in shaping the global agenda.
The dialogue was led by Saeed Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs and UAE’s BRICS Sherpa, along with Saleh Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Brazil.
In his remarks, Al Hajeri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to including young voices in multilateral cooperation efforts, stating, “We do not see youth merely as future leaders, but as essential partners in shaping the solutions we urgently need today.”
Highlighting the importance of trust and shared aspirations in forging lasting partnerships, Al Hajeri added, “Brazil is a key partner for the UAE both within the BRICS framework and beyond. Lasting partnerships are built not only through trade and diplomacy but through connection and open conversations like the one we are having here today.”
Al Hajeri also noted the UAE’s appeal to youth across the Middle East, citing the Arab Youth Survey’s consistent findings that the UAE is the most desired country for young Arabs to live in, reflecting the nation’s commitment to safety, opportunity, and optimism.
“With partnerships like this, we aim to extend that same spirit of possibility across the BRICS community,” he concluded. (ANI/WAM)
