The United Arab Emirates (UAE) government has officially dismissed claims circulating online that lifetime Golden Visas are being handed out to any Indian willing to pay a hefty sum. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) clarified that the rules governing Golden Visas remain unchanged and are strictly outlined by existing laws and regulations.
“These claims have no legal basis and were made without coordination with relevant UAE authorities,” said the ICP, adding that only the official government portal and smart application should be used to apply for a Golden Visa.
The rumours gained traction after a non-UAE-based consultancy called Rayad Group began promoting supposed “shortcut” routes to obtaining the visa. The ICP has now warned of legal action against individuals or firms exploiting people’s aspirations for life in the Emirates by spreading misinformation.
