POONCH, JAMMU & KASHMIR – Two terrorists have been killed in a confrontation with security personnel near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. This happened after an attempt to break in was stopped. The fight, which was part of “Operation Shivshakti,” started late on Tuesday night, July 29, 2025, in the Kalsian-Gulpur section of the Degwar sector.
The Indian Army started the operation after stopping a group of two to three militants who were trying to enter the border. The Indian Army’s 16 Corps (White Knight Corps) later reported that two terrorists had been killed during the operation to stop infiltration.
The 16 Corps said, “OPERATION SHIVSHAKTI: In a successful anti-infiltration operation, alert troops of the #IndianArmy eliminated two terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control.” They shared details of the important event.
Officials said that the operation was successful because several army units worked together to share information, with the Jammu and Kashmir Police playing a key role.
“Quick action and precise gunfire stopped the evil plans. The Corps also said, “Three weapons have been recovered.” They said that the full search operation is still going on to make sure the area is completely clean and that there are no more infiltrators.
Earlier, the 16 Corps had posted on social networking platform X about their first interaction with the infiltrators, saying: “#WhiteKnightCorps Contact with #Terrorists.” Our forces saw two people moving along the fence in the general region of #Poonch Sector. Gunfire was exchanged. “Operation is going on.”
This recent accomplishment in stopping infiltration comes just days after security personnel killed three terrorists who were thought to be engaged in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack as part of “Operation Mahadev.” This shows that they are working harder than ever to keep the area safe and peaceful.
