Tragic Incident In Telangana: Two Young Girls Die Of Suffocation After Getting Locked In Car

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Damaragiri village under the Chevella police station limits of Rangareddy district, Telangana, where two young children died due to suffocation inside a locked car on Monday.

The victims, identified as Thanu Sri (4) and Abhinetri (5), had reportedly accompanied their parents to their grandparents’ house for marriage-related discussions within the family.

According to the police, the children wandered outside during the family conversation and managed to open the door of a parked car and sat inside, unnoticed by the elders.

“The children were inside the vehicle for over an hour. Due to lack of ventilation and rising heat, they fell unconscious due to suffocation,” said a police official from Chevella.

The unconscious girls were rushed to a nearby government hospital, but doctors declared them brought dead, police confirmed.

Police also stated that no formal complaint has been registered yet, but an inquiry into the incident is ongoing.

The tragic event has cast a shadow of grief over the entire village and raised alarms about child safety around vehicles, especially during the hot season.

Public Safety Note:
Authorities urge parents to always lock unattended vehicles, even within home premises, and to regularly check the whereabouts of children, especially during family gatherings or large events.
