According to airport officials, two Delta Air Lines jets crashed into each other on the tarmac at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City on Wednesday night. The event happened when one of the planes was moving around near a gate.
A CBS news producer who was at the airport said that a Delta regional airplane hit another Delta plane that was taxiing to a gate. Shortly later, airport officials acknowledged that the crash had happened.
The damaged plane was seen right after the incident, and at least one person has been hurt; however, the extent and type of the injury are still unknown.
A video that purportedly appeared online shows the scene right after the crash, with people starting to respond to the disaster on the crowded airport grounds. Authorities are looking into what caused the crash.
