Two Bihar STF Officers Killed In Road Accident En Route To Gujarat Mission

Two officers of the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) tragically lost their lives in a road accident while performing their official duties, authorities confirmed on Thursday.

Sub Inspector Mukund Murari and JC/1146 Vikas Kumar died after the Scorpio vehicle they were traveling in overturned on the National Highway in the Industrial Police Station area of Ratlam district, Madhya Pradesh, around 10 AM on Wednesday.

According to the official release, the accident occurred while the team was en route to Gujarat on a mission to apprehend wanted criminals. The vehicle, carrying members of the Bihar STF, met with the accident under tragic circumstances, resulting in the instant deaths of SI Mukund Murari and Vikas Kumar due to severe injuries.

JC/1030 Jeevdhari Kumar was critically injured in the incident and is being shifted to Super Speciality Hospital in Indore for advanced treatment. Authorities have coordinated with senior police officials in Ratlam and Indore to ensure proper medical care for the injured.

The Bihar STF team, which included SI Mukund Murari, JC/1146 Vikas Kumar, JC/1030 Jeevdhari Kumar, and other personnel, had departed for Surat, Gujarat, on May 27 with official permission to arrest notorious wanted criminals.

“Arrangements have been made for the proper treatment of all the injured by establishing coordination with senior police officers of Ratlam and Indore,” the official statement noted.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway.
