Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 25: Actors Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade are all set to bring the laughs and chills back to the big screen with their upcoming horror-comedy film Kapkapiii, reuniting after six years. The teaser of the much-anticipated film was unveiled on Friday, offering a first look into the spooky yet hilarious world created by late director Sangeeth Sivan.
Known for his iconic comedies like Kya Kool Hain Hum and Apna Sapna Money Money, Kapkapiii marks one of Sangeeth Sivan’s final directorial ventures. The teaser serves as a tribute to his unique style, blending slapstick comedy with supernatural suspense.
The teaser introduces a group of friends who unwittingly dabble in the occult by playing with a Ouija board, without fully understanding the consequences. What begins as harmless fun quickly spirals into comical hauntings and ghostly chaos, including a scene where a goon fires his gun into the air to scare the group. One standout moment features Tusshar Kapoor hilariously singing in a female voice, much to Shreyas Talpade’s shock.
Starring Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, and Siddhi Idnani in the lead roles, Kapkapiii is produced by Jayesh Patel and Umesh Kumar Bansal under the banner of Bravo Entertainment, and presented by Zee Studios. The screenplay is penned by Saurabh Anand and Kumar Priyadarshi.
In a heartfelt press note, Shreyas Talpade spoke about the film and paid tribute to director Sangeeth Sivan.
“As the name suggests, Kapkapiii is about goosebumps — the kind you get just before the fear fully kicks in. It’s one of the best horror comedies by Sangeeth Sivan sir,” said Shreyas. He added, “I miss him dearly. He should’ve been here with us today to witness the release of the film he was so passionate about. He was like a father figure to me, with a terrific sense of filmmaking.”
Tusshar Kapoor also shared his experience, stating, “Kapkapiii has a very realistic setting, and the characters are extremely relatable. The horror element revolves around a Ouija board, something that hasn’t been explored much in Hindi cinema.”
Kapkapiii is scheduled to release in theatres on May 23, 2025, and promises a perfect blend of eerie thrills and belly-aching laughter for fans of the horror-comedy genre.
