D.C. – Former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was spotted holding back tears as she spoke at a memorial service for Charlie Kirk, who was killed in a terrible shooting. A video of her poignant tribute has gone viral on social media, and Kirk’s supporters all around the country have shared it.
During a student Q&A session at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem on September 10, Tyler Robinson shot and killed Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA.
Gabbard read a chapter from the Book of Corinthians in her speech that talked about how life is short and how important it is to know your mission. “In the end, the time we all have in this life is short. Sooner or later, our time will come. So the most important question we need to ask ourselves is, “What are we doing with the time we have?” “What are we doing to make the most of every day?” she said.
Gabbard said that Kirk’s life was proof of his mission. She said, “Every day, Charlie Kirk carried out his mission because of his faith in Jesus Christ and his strong commitment to protecting our God-given freedoms as laid out in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.”
Gabbard wrote a long message on Instagram about her tribute, calling Kirk a “kind, loving, and brave soul who lived what he preached.” She praised him for his dedication to open and polite debate, saying he was “a living embodiment of the vision our founders had for our country.”
Gabbard also spoke out against the assassin’s reason, saying, “The person who shot Charlie Kirk wanted to silence him. They did this by killing him and using violence to scare others who think like Charlie into silence.”
She ended her statement with a bold promise that the movement will not be quieted. “Charlie Kirk stood up to these crazies who hate freedom and want to shut up anyone who dares to question the so-called ‘liberal’ establishment.” “This killer killed him to stop his voice from being heard, stop him from inspiring others like he did every day, and to scare and intimidate the American people into silence,” she said.
