The Summer I Turned Pretty Cast Shares Hilarious And Awkward Reactions To Season 3 Finale

The cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty (TSITP) is finally talking about how they felt about the Season 3 conclusion, and their answers are just as funny and different as their characters. Media says that the performers had a combination of intense, hilarious, and sometimes embarrassing reactions to the much-anticipated reunion scene between Belly and Conrad, just like the audience.

The series is based on Jenny Han’s best-selling novel trilogy. It follows the love triangle between Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and brothers Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Chris Briney).

The “Dress” Scene

The climax of the finale is when Belly and Conrad meet up in Paris the night before Belly’s birthday. Taylor Swift’s song “Dress” from her Reputation album plays during their emotional and passionate moment. Fans soon fell in love with the sequence, and the cast’s emotions during a recent showing were just as unforgettable.

After a screening in Paris on Wednesday, September 17, the cast talked to Entertainment Tonight about what it was like to work on the show. Lola Tung joked that she “had to step away” during the personal encounter, but then she came back to see how the audience reacted.

Gavin Casalegno, who plays Jeremiah, said he hid his face behind his hands and said, “I am not watching this,” but he still peeked through his fingers to check whether the moment was done. Jackie Chung, who plays Belly’s mother Laurel, added a funny touch by noting that even Lola Tung’s real mother hid her eyes during the screening and laughed, saying, “We moms don’t need this.”

Sean Kaufman, who plays Belly’s brother Steven, made the scenario funny by wondering whether it would ever stop. Chris Briney, who plays Conrad, on the other hand, stayed calm and said, “It’s just another day at work” for him. He said that he was mostly concerned with the technical aspects of the scene, like hitting marks and making sure that the lighting and plot expressed the right emotions.

Jenny Han, the author and creator of the series, said she “knew” she wanted to use Taylor Swift’s “Dress” for the scene. She said, “For the big emotional scenes, I already know what I want to do.”
