Trump Rules Out Deporting Prince Harry Amid Visa Dispute and Legal Challenges

Washington DC [US], February 9: US President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting Prince Harry from the United States, despite ongoing litigation questioning the Duke of Sussex’s immigration status, according to The New York Post. In an interview with the publication on February 9, Trump stated that he did not want to take any action against Harry, saying, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

This comes amid legal challenges related to Harry’s visa, particularly from the Heritage Foundation, which has raised concerns over Harry’s potential failure to disclose past illegal drug use during his visa application process. The foundation argues that Harry may have misrepresented his history, as detailed in his autobiography, Spare, which includes admissions of cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics use.

Trump also took the opportunity to praise Harry’s older brother, Prince William, calling him “a great young man.” The two had met privately in Paris during the **reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in December 2024, highlighting a stark contrast to the strained relationship between Trump and Harry and Meghan Markle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal critics of Trump for years. Meghan Markle has described him as “divisive” and “misogynistic,” while Trump has often ridiculed Harry, claiming the prince is “whipped by Meghan.” “I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose,” Trump remarked in a previous interview.

The Heritage Foundation’s lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security questions the validity of Harry’s US visa, based on the claim that he may not have been truthful about his past drug use. Nile Gardiner of the Heritage Foundation stated, “Anyone who applies to the United States has to be truthful on their application, and it is not clear that is the case with Prince Harry.

Additionally, the conservative think tank has raised suspicions that Harry may have received favorable treatment from the Biden administration after he and Meghan moved to California in 2020, following their departure from the British royal family, known as “Megxit.”
