Trump Reportedly Considering Commuting Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Sentence This Week

According to a claim from TMZ that cites a high-ranking White House official, US President Donald Trump is thinking of shortening the prison sentence of music mogul and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs as soon as this week.

The insider informed the magazine that Trump is “vacillating” over whether or not to go through with the commutation. Some White House personnel are said to be telling the President not to do it, but the insider said, “Trump will do what he wants.”

Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence for breaking the Mann Act. He has already served 13 months. He may be free in roughly two years on his present sentence, but if the President commutes it, he would be out right away or very soon after.

Diddy’s Team Got in Touch with the White House

The chance of a commutation came up not long after Diddy was sentenced this month on federal charges. It is said that his lawyers talked to a high-ranking White House official who works closely with Trump about the chance of a commutation or full pardon.

On October 6, Trump openly agreed to the request: He said, “A lot of people have asked me for pardons.” “I call him Puff Daddy, and he has asked me to forgive him.”

Diddy’s political history makes this issue even more interesting because he supported Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential campaign.

The Charges and the Legal Setting

Last year, federal authorities raided Diddy’s residences because they were looking into sex trafficking claims. Now, he is facing criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering. The indictments said that the music entrepreneur ran a criminal organization that forced victims to go to “freak off” parties, where they had to have sex with male sex workers. He was also accused of giving the women illegal narcotics and recording the activities so he could use them to blackmail them. It has been said that jurors were given pictures of Cassie Ventura’s injuries from Diddy’s alleged attacks, which included black eyes, swollen lips, and a big gash.

Damian Williams, the senior federal prosecutor in Manhattan who famously pursued serious sex trafficking charges against Diddy, announced his resignation in November. He was replaced by Jay Clayton, who used to be the chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
