D.C. – President Donald Trump has opened a new “Presidential Walk of Fame” at the White House, which has been criticized for not following the usual rules of etiquette. There are gold-framed photographs of all the past presidents along the West Wing colonnade, save for one: Joe Biden. Instead of a picture of Biden, there is a picture of his autopen signature.
An anonymous White House official said that President Trump came up with the idea for the autopen photo. Trump has often said that Biden, because of his age and mental health, used the autopen to sign official documents without knowing what they said. This move is a clear response to that. Presidents from both parties often use an autopen, but Trump has used it several times to question the validity of Biden’s choices.
The official White House account on X (previously Twitter) posted pictures of the new display, which showed Trump looking at the paintings. This exhibit is one of many alterations Trump has made to the White House’s appearance since he took office. The Oval Office now has fancy gold embellishments, while the Rose Garden’s grass has been replaced with a hard-stone patio. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton’s photographs are no longer prominently displayed.
A representative for Biden said they couldn’t comment on the new photo.
