Trump Drops Support for Marjorie Taylor Greene, Intensifying Public Feud Within GOP

Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene — long known for her “America First, America Only” stance and vocal support for Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda — was dealt a major blow after the former president abruptly withdrew his endorsement on Thursday. The decision stunned political observers, given Greene’s years of loyalty and alignment with Trump’s base.

In a sharply worded post distancing himself from the Georgia lawmaker, Trump labeled her “wacky” and a “ranting lunatic,” marking a dramatic shift in their once close political alliance. The feud escalated quickly, with Trump later referring to her as “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene.” Greene, in response, accused the president of creating an atmosphere that could incite death threats against her.

The split underscores deeper ideological divisions between the two figures. Greene has criticized U.S. support for Israel during the Gaza conflict, urging the administration to focus resources on domestic issues. She has also pushed strongly for the full release of the Epstein files — a move Trump has dismissed as a “Democrat hoax” aimed at distracting from his administration’s achievements.

Greene’s critiques, along with her “America First, America Only” message, have resonated with parts of the conservative base. Many have gone as far as replacing MAGA hats with “America First” caps, accusing the MAGA platform of shifting toward what they now deride as “MIGA” — Make Israel Great Again.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh added momentum to the movement a day before the fallout, calling for an “America First, America Only” approach. Following Trump’s attacks on Greene and Rep. Thomas Massie, more conservatives have echoed this sentiment online.

“Trump supporting Lindsey Graham as he attacks MTG & Thomas Massie. MAGA is dead. It’s time for America Only,” one user posted on X, reflecting the widening rift within right-wing circles.
