Trump Directs AG Pam Bondi To Seek Release of Epstein Grand Jury Testimony

Washington [US], July 18: Former US President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he has instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to move the court to release all grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein, pending judicial approval.

“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval. This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Bondi responded on X (formerly Twitter), confirming her intent to seek court permission as early as Friday.

“President Trump–we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts,” she posted.

Mounting Pressure and Conspiracy Theories

The move comes amid rising pressure from Trump’s base, many of whom believe the Epstein case has been politically weaponized or shrouded in secrecy to protect high-profile individuals—particularly Democrats.

Earlier this month, the FBI and Department of Justice reiterated that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in custody in New York, and emphasized that there is no “client list” as many conspiracy theories claim.

However, Epstein’s associations with influential figures—including Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and others—continue to fuel speculation and public interest.

Trump’s Growing Frustration

According to The Hill, Trump has voiced irritation over the continued focus on Epstein, even from his own supporters. He recently labeled some Republicans “weaklings” and accused them of falling for a “Democrat hoax” by keeping the story alive.

Bondi herself has faced backlash from parts of Trump’s base, who allege she has failed to deliver promised documents or transparency in the case.

Congressional Action and WSJ Report

Trump’s announcement came just after the House Rules Committee moved forward a symbolic resolution urging—but not requiring—the release of Epstein-related files. A vote in the full House has not yet been scheduled.

On the same day, The Wall Street Journal published a controversial report alleging that Trump once sent Epstein a birthday note in 2003, printed on a card “framed by the outline of a naked woman,” which read: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump denied writing the letter and threatened legal action against the Journal, with his allies moving swiftly to discredit the story.
