DALLAS, TEXAS – Donald Trump, the President of the United States, made a strong comment on Truth Social about the terrible murder of Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, an Indian-American hotel manager who was beheaded in Dallas, Texas, last week. Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban immigrant, is said to have perpetrated the crime in front of Nagamallaiah’s wife and son.
“I know about the terrible news about the murder of Chandra Nagamallaiah, a well-respected man in Dallas, Texas. He was brutally beheaded in front of his wife and son by an ILLEGAL ALIEN from Cuba who should never have been in our Country,” Trump wrote.
The event took place on Wednesday morning at the Downtown Suites motel. Police say the terrible attack started with an argument about a broken washing machine. Cobos-Martinez, who is 37 years old, is said to have fled the scene but then come back with a machete and attacked Nagamallaiah, killing him in front of his shocked family.
Trump’s post directly linked the crime to the policies of his predecessor. He said that Cobos-Martinez had a history of “terrible crimes,” such as child sex abuse, grand theft auto, and false imprisonment, but was released “under incompetent Joe Biden because Cuba did not want such an evil person in their Country.”
Tricia McLaughlin, the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at Homeland Security, said the same thing, calling the murder “a savage, preventable crime” and saying it showed the administration’s policy of trying to deport criminal migrants to third countries when their home countries won’t take them back.
Trump commended Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi, and Tom Homan, who are all members of his own cabinet, for “making America safe again.” He promised that his government will not be “soft” on criminals who are illegal immigrants.
Cobos-Martinez is being jailed without bail and has a criminal record in the United States. He had been in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) before, but Cuba refused to send him back, so they let him go earlier this year. If Cobos-Martinez is found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison without parole or be put to death.
