Donald Trump Alleges ‘Triple Sabotage’ At UN General Assembly, Demands Investigation

NEW YORK – Donald Trump, the President of the United States, used his social media site, Truth Social, on Wednesday to accuse the United Nations of “triple sabotage” during his visit to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. The president said that there were three separate events that he believes were planned to stop him from giving a speech and making an appearance. He asked the UN to look into them.

Trump says the first thing that happened was when he and First Lady Melania Trump were going up an escalator to the main speaking floor. “It stopped on a dime,” Trump wrote, talking about how the escalator came to a “screeching halt.” He said that he and the First Lady were almost shoved forward and labeled the event “absolutely sabotage,” asking for the people who did it to be arrested.

The second problem came up as he started his speech to the 80th UN General Assembly. He said that the teleprompter he was supposed to use “didn’t work” and was “stone cold dark.” Trump wrote, “Wow, first the escalator incident and now a bad teleprompter.” What kind of location is this? Despite the problem, Trump gave a 57-minute speech from memory. The teleprompter apparently started working again approximately 15 minutes into his speech.

Finally, Trump said that the sound system in the General Assembly hall was “off” following his speech, which meant that world leaders could only hear what he said if they were using interpreters’ earpieces. He told of a chat he had with the First Lady, who was in the front row. “How did I do?” I asked. And she said, “I couldn’t hear a word you said.”

Trump said he doesn’t think these occurrences were a coincidence and has written to the UN Secretary-General, asking for an immediate inquiry. He has also asked that all surveillance footage from the escalator, including footage of the “emergency stop button,” be kept. There are reports that the U.S. Secret Service is engaged.
