Trump Accuses Biden Administration Of Turning DOJ Into “Department Of Injustice”

Washington DC [US], March 15: US President Donald Trump on Friday (local time) accused the administration of former President Joe Biden of transforming the Department of Justice (DOJ) into a “Department of Injustice,” vowing that “those days are over.”

Trump made these comments during a speech at the DOJ, following a wave of terminations and resignations of Biden-era judges, attorneys, and officials under the new administration.

“Our predecessor turned the Department of Justice into a Department of Injustice, but I stand before you to declare that those days are over, and they are never coming back. As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of our country, I will insist upon and demand accountability for all the wrongs and abuse that have occurred,” Trump stated.

He went on to claim that the previous administration engaged in a series of abuses, including spying on his campaign and launching “one hoax and disinformation operation after another.” Trump also mentioned the persecution of his family, staff, and supporters, as well as the controversial Mar-a-Lago raid, accusing the DOJ of trying to prevent his rise to the presidency.

Trump further vowed to “clean up” Washington, focusing on tackling crime and curbing illegal immigration. He also expressed concerns about the city’s image during visits from world leaders, such as Indian PM Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, stressing that he did not want them to witness the “tension, graffiti, and broken barriers” in the capital.

“We are cleaning up our city, this great capital. We are not going to have crime, we are going to take graffiti down, we have already taken tents down, and we are working with the administration,” Trump said, adding that foreign leaders’ visits should reflect a strong, unified city.

Last month, Trump announced his decision to remove all remaining “Biden-era” US attorneys, criticizing the “politicisation” of the DOJ over the past four years. He emphasized the importance of “cleaning house” to restore public confidence in the justice system, calling for a fair system to ensure America’s prosperity.
