Tripura Govt Launches ₹10 Midday Meal Initiative For Patients & Families At GBP Hospital

In a major relief for underprivileged patients and their families, Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital have introduced a midday meal service priced at just ₹10.

💡 Key Highlights:

  • Launched in collaboration with the Rotary Club & Patient Welfare Committee.
  • Provides nutritious meals at an extremely affordable rate.
  • New shelter facility for families of patients.
  • Tripura CM Manik Saha inaugurated the initiative, reinforcing the state’s commitment to social welfare.

🏥 Why This Matters:
GBP Hospital, one of Tripura’s oldest and busiest medical institutions, serves patients from across the state. Many families face financial hardships while staying in Agartala for treatment.

👥 Voices of Support:

  • Archana Roy (Former Hospital Staff): “Getting a nutritious meal for just ₹10 is a huge relief for many. I personally served a meal, and the patients were very happy.”
  • Pramila Debnath (Patient’s Family): “This facility was never available before. I truly appreciate this initiative.”
  • Subhash Baishnab (Beneficiary): “For over a month, we had no option but to eat outside. This program has truly helped us.”

🚀 Future Plans:
The Tripura government aims to expand this initiative, ensuring more patients and their families benefit. CM Saha emphasized that this aligns with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of affordable food programs for the economically disadvantaged.

This initiative sets a new benchmark in patient welfare, making quality healthcare more inclusive and compassionate. ❤️
