Ed Kelce, the father of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, has verified that the proposal happened in a private, romantic moment at his son’s $6 million Kansas City residence.
Ed Kelce told media that the proposal happened “maybe two weeks ago” before the couple made their announcement on Instagram on August 26. He claimed his son had planned to wait and make a bigger occasion, but Taylor was getting “a little antsy.” Ed remembered telling his kid that the gesture was more important than where it happened. He said, “You could do it on the side of the road, do it anywhere that makes it a special event.”
In the end, Travis listened to what they said. His dad said that the NFL star surprised Swift right before they were going to supper. He took her outside, and just before they were going to dinner, he suggested, “Let’s go out for a drink.” “They got out there, and that’s when he asked her. It was beautiful,” Ed added.
A few minutes after the proposal, the couple who just got engaged called their parents on FaceTime to tell them.
