Los Angeles, CA: In a recent interview with GQ, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce opened up about his admiration for girlfriend Taylor Swift, praising her incredible work ethic and physical stamina during her massive live performances. Having witnessed the behind-the-scenes effort, Kelce spoke about the demanding nature of the Eras Tour, which he believes is as physically taxing as his own profession.
Kelce, who has been in a relationship with Swift since September 2023, reflected on their unique connection. “I hadn’t experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions,” he said. He was particularly struck by how “exhausted she would get after shows.”
Comparing her to an athlete, Kelce added, “She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I’ve seen what she goes through. I’ve seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it’s mind-blowing.” He elaborated on the immense physical demands of her shows, stating that performing for three hours on a stage that is “a football-field-sized computer” in sweltering heat is “arguably more exhausting than how much I put in on a Sunday.” He noted that she performs with the same high level of energy “three, four, five days in a row.”
The couple has been a high-profile pairing since Swift first attended one of Kelce’s games in September 2023. Recently, on an episode of his podcast New Heights, Swift herself made a major announcement. She revealed her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which is her 12th studio album. Although a specific release date has not been announced, the album is available for pre-order and physical copies are scheduled to ship before October 13.
