Trailer of ‘In Transit’ Unveiled: Zoya Akhtar & Reema Kagti’s Docuseries To Explore Trans and Non-Binary Lives In India

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 6: The trailer of the upcoming docuseries ‘In Transit’ has officially been unveiled. Backed by acclaimed filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti under the Tiger Baby banner, the four-part series is directed by Ayesha Sood and will premiere on Prime Video on June 13.

‘In Transit’ presents an intimate and powerful exploration of the lives of trans and non-binary individuals in India, focusing on their experiences with identity, love, and societal norms. The series promises to portray their stories with empathy, authenticity, and cultural nuance, making it a significant addition to Indian documentary storytelling.

Ayesha Sood, known for her socially driven storytelling, opened up about her emotional journey while making the series.

Directing In Transit has been a deeply personal and moving process. Our goal is to bring a diverse set of stories to your living room with the aim of breaking existing barriers. Through our fantastic and heroic characters, we believe audiences across the world will relate to their struggles of finding one’s place in the world,” Sood said.

The docuseries dives into the personal lives, challenges, and triumphs of its protagonists, aiming to normalize trans and non-binary narratives within mainstream Indian media. In Transit’ will stream exclusively on Prime Video starting June 13, and is expected to spark important conversations about gender, acceptance, and inclusivity in India and beyond.
