In a tragic incident in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, a roof collapse at a dargah near the Humayun’s Tomb complex has resulted in the death of at least five people. According to officials from the Delhi Police and AIIMS, nine patients were rushed to the hospital following the collapse.
The incident occurred at the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah, a historic shrine located within a 16th-century complex of religious structures. Eyewitnesses reported that a portion of the building’s roof gave way, trapping several people beneath the debris.
Emergency services, including the Delhi Police, Fire Department, and NDRF personnel, were immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct search-and-rescue operations. So far, 11 individuals have been rescued from the site and taken to various hospitals, including AIIMS Trauma Centre. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the collapse.
