Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 21: On Tovino Thomas’ 36th birthday, Mollywood superstars Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran delighted fans by unveiling the first-look poster of Tovino’s character, Jathin Ramdas, from the highly anticipated film L2: Empuraan.
Taking to their Instagram accounts, both actors wished Tovino a happy birthday, with the caption: “Happy Birthday, Jathin! #TovinoThomas Power is an illusion!”
The poster showcases Tovino in a calm and composed demeanor, dressed in a white kurta-pyjama. He stands with his back to the camera, facing a large portrait of PK Ramdas (played by Sachin Khedekar), hinting at an intricate narrative connection between the two characters.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan is the sequel to the 2019 hit Lucifer, which featured Mohanlal as the iconic Stephen Nedumpally, aka Khureshi Abraam. The sequel wrapped filming in December 2024.
Prithviraj will reprise his role as Zayed Masood with an expanded screen presence. Earlier, the makers revealed his look in an intense black commando outfit with a cap and shades.
The star-studded cast of L2: Empuraan also includes Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Baiju Santhosh. The film, set to release on March 27, 2025, will be available in five languages.
The first installment, Lucifer, was a massive success, with Mohanlal’s portrayal of the enigmatic Stephen Nedumpally receiving widespread acclaim.
