Washington [US], December 4 : Actor Tori Spelling recently opened up about an emotional conflict between her ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ co-star Luke Perry and her ex-boyfriend, Nick Savalas, which affected their relationship for months. Spelling recalled the “awful” fight during an episode of her ‘Misspelling’ podcast, where she discussed how she and Perry stopped speaking for a while after the altercation in the 90s.
The fight, which took place at a Christmas Eve party, was sparked by her boyfriend’s treatment of her. Spelling shared, “It was the way he treated me… everyone had had enough, and Luke was truly like a big brother to me.” She added that Perry had expressed how hard it was for him to watch her endure the relationship, stating, “I couldn’t stand by anymore.”
According to Spelling, the disagreement began when she arrived at the party with Nick. Perry, who disapproved of him, would visibly ignore Nick, which led to a confrontation. “I think Nick approached Luke to be like, ‘What’s up?'” Spelling recalled. She admitted that while Nick may have instigated the situation, Perry’s response came from a place of care, with Luke telling her, “I love you so much, I can’t take this anymore.”
After the incident, Spelling and Perry did not speak for months, and she was upset at the time. However, with time, she realized that Perry had been trying to protect her from the toxic relationship, acknowledging, “He was just trying to save me.”
In 2021, Spelling honored Perry with a tribute on social media, reflecting on their bond. Perry passed away in 2019 at the age of 52 following a stroke.
