Tori Spelling Opens Up About Life Post-Divorce, Embraces ‘Monogamous Situationship’

Washington DC [US], July 8: Actress Tori Spelling is redefining romance on her own terms following her divorce from Dean McDermott. Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast misSPELLING, Spelling shared that she’s now looking for a “monogamous situationship”—a flexible relationship style that fits her busy life as a single mom and working woman, according to People.

“I’m focused on my kids and I’m focused on work,” said the Beverly Hills, 90210 star. “So the new thing is not a relationship, but a monogamous situationship… It just kind of goes with your time and freedom—and they’re there.”

Spelling, 51, officially filed for divorce from McDermott in March 2024 after 18 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. On her podcast, she’s been candid about the emotional and logistical challenges of single motherhood, raising five children: Liam (18), Stella (16), Hattie (13), Finn (12), and Beau (8).

Opening up about her current emotional state, Spelling revealed she’s not interested in dating apps. “I don’t want to be with somebody, but I do want to be. I just don’t want to be alone,” she confessed.

The conversation took an emotional turn when Spelling broke down in tears, admitting, “I just — I don’t want to die alone.” Co-host Aubrey O’Day responded with heartfelt support: “You’re not going to die alone. I’m here. First of all. Listen to me.”

Spelling also spoke honestly about her struggles with self-esteem. “I’ve had a lack of confidence my entire life, and I never felt worthy enough,” she said, noting that fame often masks deeper insecurities. “People assume when you’re in this business, you’re confident. But it’s something I’m still working on.”

The actress continues to use her podcast as a platform to connect with listeners and share her personal growth as she navigates life after divorce and embraces a new definition of love and companionship.
