New Delhi [India], May 14: The top leadership of India’s Armed Forces, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, shared in-depth perspectives on the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor during a high-level strategic interaction on Wednesday.
The session highlighted the Tri-Services synergy that led to the successful conduct of the cross-border operation, marking a new era in multi-domain joint warfare for India.
In a post shared by Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff, the armed forces leadership elaborated on the strategic clarity, joint integration, and new-age warfare tactics that enabled precise and coordinated action against terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
“Insights on the Tri-Services synergy achieved through clearly stated strategic guidance and the successful execution of new-age multi-domain operations, with an exceptional degree of jointness and integration, were deliberated with veterans and think tanks,” the statement read.
Operation Sindoor: Key Facts
- Launched on May 7, the operation was a direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians.
- Indian Armed Forces struck multiple terror camps across Pakistan and PoK, eliminating over 100 terrorists affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
- Following Pakistani retaliation in the form of cross-border shelling and drone incursions, India conducted precision strikes damaging radar systems, airfields, and communication centres across 11 Pakistani airbases.
- On May 10, an understanding for cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced.
The operation has been widely seen as a demonstration of India’s evolving military doctrine, which emphasizes rapid response, integrated tri-service execution, and calibrated force application.
