New Delhi — Union Minister CR Patil lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Indian Armed Forces for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, calling it a powerful message to the world about India’s resolve against terrorism.
Participating in the nationwide Tiranga Yatra launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Patil said the military offensive sent a clear message: “India should never be provoked.”
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, our army has eliminated the terrorists. This message has gone to the whole world — India will not spare those who provoke it,” Patil told media, hailing the operation launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Tiranga Yatra: A Nationwide Campaign of Patriotism and Pride
Launched on May 14, the Tiranga Yatra is a pan-India campaign aimed at honoring the Armed Forces and showcasing the success of Operation Sindoor. The campaign will continue until May 23 and is being held across multiple states, including Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, and more.
The Yatra was flagged off in Delhi with a massive 108-foot-long national flag as a symbol of national pride and solidarity with the armed forces.
Assam Joins the Nation in Tribute
In Guwahati, Assam BJP President Dilip Sakia led the local chapter of the Yatra, praising the Indian Armed Forces for their “immense courage” in targeting terror camps inside Pakistan.
“Pakistan has nurtured terrorism. Our forces have given a fitting reply. Under PM Modi’s leadership, they were given a free hand to strike back,” said Sakia.
Sakia added that the campaign is also supported by citizens’ groups, aiming to unite public sentiment behind the armed forces and India’s counter-terror policy.
Assam CM Inaugurates Operation Sindoor Exhibition
Adding to the tribute, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a special exhibition on Operation Sindoor at the BJP headquarters in Guwahati.
“The missile systems, the defence infrastructure, and the valour of our soldiers have dismantled Pakistan’s terror ecosystem. This exhibition shows the courage and capability of our armed forces to the people,” the CM said.
The exhibition showcases key moments from the operation, weapon systems used, and visual tributes to the martyrs and veterans of India’s armed response.
Context: Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was a high-intensity military strike against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK). It came in direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed dozens of civilians and security personnel.
The government has positioned the operation as a decisive act of national defence, garnering global attention and praise, including from the United States and several EU countries.
Public Sentiment and Political Messaging
The Tiranga Yatra reflects both public support for the armed forces and the BJP’s effort to consolidate its national security credentials ahead of the upcoming general elections.
As tensions with Pakistan have eased following a mutual ceasefire understanding, the Indian government is seeking to balance strategic restraint with a strong internal and global narrative of military and diplomatic dominance.
