Timothy Spall Supports ‘Harry Potter’ Reboot, Says It’s A ‘New Manifestation’ Of The Wizarding World

MUMBAI: Fans of the Wizarding World have not been happy with the new HBO Harry Potter revival series that is being filmed in London right now. Timothy Spall, the actor who played Peter Pettigrew in the original movies, has come out in full support of the new project, nevertheless. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Spall indicated that the series will give the story a “new twist.”

The 68-year-old actor, who appeared in the criminal mystery series Death Valley not too long ago, said that the revival is getting a lot of attention. “We are living in a time of negativity. “People make decisions too quickly, and they get hurt too quickly,” Spall told HT. He is sure that the series will be a “huge success” because the Harry Potter franchise is so popular all around the world.

Spall thinks that the series, which is based on J.K. Rowling’s books, is a “wonderful work of imagination” that has inspired a whole generation of readers. “It has brought kids to books. He stated, “It makes kids want to read.” “I’m fine with anything that gets kids interested in books.”

Spall told the new group, which includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron, that he hopes people will give the young actors an opportunity. “There will always be people who don’t like it because so many people do. “But I think people will be happy to see some fresh air,” he remarked.

He cited a strong argument for why he supported the reboot, saying that the movies, while “beautifully made,” couldn’t include all the information from the novels. He thinks the series will be able to “go into more detail.”

“You’ll be able to see things that aren’t in the movies… So, you’ll see more. It won’t just be a copy. A lot of books are made over and over again… He ended by saying, “Great stories can be told again and again.”

Francesca Gardiner is writing and creating the new series, while Mark Mylod is directing it. It is set to air in 2027.
