While Michael B. Jordan may have taken home the Best Actor trophy for Sinners, Timothée Chalamet remained the center of attention at the 98th Academy Awards. Nominated for his portrayal of a table-tennis prodigy in Aditya Dhar’s Marty Supreme, Chalamet arrived at the Dolby Theatre in a bold fashion statement, sporting a crisp white suit, black sunglasses, and white boots. By his side was Kylie Jenner, who stunned the red carpet in a vibrant red Schiaparelli gown.
The couple provided one of the night’s most viral moments when they were captured leaving the ceremony hand in hand. Their chemistry was also on display during the telecast when host Conan O’Brien playfully roasted Chalamet over his recent controversial comments regarding ballet and opera. “Security is very tight tonight… there’s concerns about attacks from the ballet and opera communities,” O’Brien joked, before adding that they were just mad he “left out jazz.” Chalamet and Jenner were seen laughing off the jab from their front-row seats.
This marks Chalamet’s third career Best Actor nomination, following his previous nods for Call Me By Your Name and A Complete Unknown. Although he faced stiff competition this year from veterans like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ethan Hawke, his consistent presence in the lead actor category solidifies his status as a modern Hollywood powerhouse.
