New Delhi [India]: Thirty citizens who have distinguished themselves in diverse professions joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday in a membership drive held at the residence of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.
These individuals come from diverse sectors such as healthcare, industry, environment, and non-governmental organisations, showcasing the growing appeal of the BJP across varied sections of society.
Speaking on the occasion, the newly inducted members commended the work done by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past decade.
They highlighted the transformation India has undergone, particularly in infrastructure development and economic growth. Several speakers emphasised how the country has evolved from a fragile economy in 2014 to being ranked among the top five economies in the world, on course to become the 3rd largest economy soon.
Expressing their faith in the Prime Minister’s vision, the new members pledged their dedication to the goal of nation-building, contributing towards the realisation of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Puri welcomed the new members, stating that their experience and commitment would further strengthen the party’s efforts to shape India’s future.
“Nation First Progress First Empowerment of people first… This is the ideology of the party family that is BJP and also an inspiration for nation-lovers. Under BJP Sadasyata 2024 many eminent people of the country took membership of the party family in the program organized at my residence today. Everyone said in one voice that PM Narendra Modi’s intentions are clear, policies are clear and decisions are solid! We are all ready to fulfill his resolve of ‘developed India’. All of you respected people from different fields are welcome in the party family. Undoubtedly, your joining will strengthen the party and will give new momentum to the journey towards a developed India,” said Minister Hardeep Puri in his post on X.
Earlier in the day, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 53 lakh members have enrolled as BJP members in Assam.
“So far we have been able to enrol 53 lakh members, and we have achieved 85 per cent of our target. As of now, Assam is the number one state across the country that achieved 85 per cent of its target. In 71 Assembly constituencies of the state, we have enrolled more than 40,000 members in each constituency,” CM Sarma said on Monday.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP’s 2024 membership drive by renewing his membership on September 2. The new membership drive was launched in New Delhi with PM Modi getting the certificate for the renewal of his membership from BJP president JP Nadda.
