Netflix has officially unveiled the first-look teaser for The Witcher Season 4, confirming that Liam Hemsworth will take over the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill. The highly anticipated season is set to premiere on the streaming platform on October 30, 2025.
In a minute-long teaser, Hemsworth is seen as Geralt battling a wraith. The clip showcases his take on the monster hunter, as he first attempts to defeat the ghostly spirit with his sword and Witcher Signs, before finally crushing the dark, glowing mass at its core. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich has stated that Season 4 marks the beginning of a “two-season journey” to reunite the show’s main characters.
The announcement has garnered a wide range of reactions from the show’s dedicated fanbase. Many expressed their lingering loyalty to Henry Cavill, with one fan commenting, “This tv show without Henry Cavill is like Pirates of Caribbean without Johny Depp!” Others, however, are willing to give Hemsworth a chance.
