Washington [US], December 17 : The highly anticipated third season of The White Lotus is set to debut on HBO, taking viewers to a luxurious Thai resort for a fresh chapter filled with drama and intrigue. The eight-episode season will premiere on February 16, 2024, at 9 pm and will be available for streaming on Max.
HBO recently dropped the first teaser trailer, offering a tantalizing glimpse into what promises to be another sharp exploration of human nature. The trailer is paired with a haunting voiceover: “Everyone runs from pain towards pleasure. But they get there only to find more pain,” hinting at the complex themes the season will address.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, creator Mike White has teased that the new season will offer a “satirical and funny look at death, eastern religion, and spirituality.” The third season follows the pattern of its predecessors, with the first season exploring wealth and the second focusing on sex.
Set at an exclusive resort in Thailand, the new season will follow a diverse group of guests and employees who become entangled in drama over the course of a week. The trailer introduces an all-star cast, including returning White Lotus star Natasha Rothwell, reprising her role as Belinda Lindsey, the spa manager from season one.
Other notable additions to the cast include Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and Parker Posey. International pop sensation Lisa Manobal of Blackpink makes her acting debut, joined by newcomers Jason Isaacs, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, and more.
Thai actors Dom Hetrakul and Tayme Thapthimthong, along with new faces Francesca Corney, Arnas Fedaravicius, and Morgana O’Reilly, round out the diverse ensemble.
Mike White, who created, wrote, and directed the series, returns as executive producer alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
