‘The Wheel Of Time’ Creators Unveil First Look Trailer And Premiere Date

Washington [US], December 8: Prime Video has officially announced the premiere date and released the first teaser trailer for the highly awaited third season of The Wheel of Time. Fans can return to the world of magic and epic conflict on March 13, 2024.

The announcement was made at the CCXP (Comic Con Experience) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the teaser trailer offered a glimpse of the escalating battle between Light and Dark. The new footage showcases a world in turmoil, as the Shadow’s influence spreads and the stakes of the ongoing battle intensify.

Season 3 will see Moiraine Sedai (Rosamund Pike) and Egwene al’Vere (Madeleine Madden) doing everything in their power to prevent Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski) from succumbing to the growing darkness threatening the world.

Set in a vast world where only women can harness magic, The Wheel of Time follows Rand, a farm boy who learns he is the Dragon Reborn. This pivotal figure is destined to either save or destroy the world. As the Shadow’s forces gain strength, Season 3 brings even greater challenges for Rand and his allies.

After defeating the villain Ishamael and being acknowledged as the Dragon Reborn at the end of Season 2, Rand faces new threats in Season 3. The White Tower is divided, the Black Ajah is unleashed, and enemies long thought defeated return to the Two Rivers. The Forsaken, including the powerful Lanfear (Natasha O’Keeffe), are relentlessly pursuing Rand.

As Rand’s past unravels and his powers grow increasingly unstable, his allies Moiraine and Egwene must work together to prevent him from fully succumbing to the Dark, whatever the personal cost. The season will also explore the growing and complex relationship between Rand and Lanfear, which may determine his fate.

Returning for Season 3 are Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, Josha Stradowski as Rand, and Madeleine Madden as Egwene, alongside Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Zoe Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, and Donal Finn as Mat Cauthon. New cast members include Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Kate Fleetwood as Leandrin Guirale, and Ayoola Smart as Min Farshaw.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time is adapted for television by Rafe Judkins, who serves as showrunner and executive producer. The series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

Fans can catch up on the first two seasons, which are available for streaming on Prime Video. With the Last Battle drawing near, Season 3 promises to delve deeper into the ongoing conflict between Light and Dark, and the characters caught in between.
