‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Trailer Teases Heartache, Love Triangles, And A Bittersweet Ending

Washington [US], June 12: The much-anticipated third season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is almost here, and Amazon Prime Video has released a moving new trailer, set to Taylor Swift’s emotional tracks “Daylight” and “Red.”

As the series edges toward its conclusion, viewers will follow Belly (Lola Tung) through pivotal choices involving love, family, and her future. Season 3 picks up at the end of Belly’s junior year of college as she embarks on another summer at the beloved Cousins Beach.

Though the setting is picturesque, Belly faces emotional turmoil as her heart remains divided. She’s engaged to Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), who represents a secure and loving future. However, the unexpected return of Conrad (Christopher Briney), her first love, stirs unresolved feelings.

In the trailer, Belly appears firm in her decision, narrating, “First loves are important. But they’re not as important as lasts. I loved [Conrad] in a way that you can only do the first time around. But that is the past. Jeremiah is my future. This is the way it is supposed to be. He is The One.”

Still, long-time fans of the series know things are rarely so simple.

Based on Jenny Han’s book We’ll Always Have Summer, Season 3 promises to follow the emotional depth of the original story. Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship hits turbulence, culminating in a painful breakup. In the aftermath, Belly is forced to confront her true feelings for Conrad, leading to a dramatic decision on her wedding day. A flash-forward reveals that Belly, at age 23, is married to Conrad, back where it all began—at Cousins Beach.

The new season will also feature the return of fan favorites like Rain Spencer (Taylor), Sean Kaufman (Steven), and Jackie Chung (Laurel, Belly’s mom).

New cast members include Isabella Briggs and Kristen Connolly as series regulars, with Sofia Bryant, Lily Donoghue, Zoe de Grand’Maison, Emma Ishta, and Tanner Zagarino appearing in recurring roles.

Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka return as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip.

With 11 episodes set to premiere on July 16, Season 3 is shaping up to be an emotional and memorable finale for fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
