Washington (US), February 15: The medical drama TV series The Pitt has officially been renewed for a second season. Created by R. Scott Gemmill, the show premiered on Max on January 9, 2025, and has now been given the green light for another season.
The series, produced by John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television, follows Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch (Noah Wyle) as he navigates a 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in the emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital.
The first season, consisting of 15 episodes, will conclude with its season finale on April 10.
Max Original Programming head Sarah Aubrey expressed excitement about the show’s reception, saying, “It’s been a thrill to watch audiences embrace The Pitt as an update to procedural storytelling, with a cast who authentically embody the heroics of doctors and nurses on shift in a 2025 emergency room. The talented cast of The Pitt includes Tracey Ifeachor (Dr. Collins), Patrick Ball (Dr. Langdon), Katherine LaNasa (Dana Evans), Supriya Ganesh (Dr. Mohan), Fiona Dourif (Dr. McKay), Taylor Dearden (Dr. King), Isa Briones (Dr. Santos), Gerran Howell (Whitaker), and Shabana Azeez (Javadi).
