Los Angeles [US], May 29: The hit Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, is set to make a highly anticipated return with its fourth season on September 17.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming season will feature another significant time jump, beginning nearly two years after the events of season three. To build excitement, Apple TV+ has released a selection of first-look photos teasing both new and returning cast members.
The series continues to expand its ensemble cast. Joining Aniston and Witherspoon are high-profile newcomers Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, and Boyd Holbrook. Returning favorites include Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm.
Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt previously hinted at the challenges faced in the writers’ room following the dramatic cliffhanger that closed out season three. Despite setting lead characters Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Witherspoon) on very different paths, she assured fans that their dynamic will remain central.
“People appreciated that they’re together but not together. That’s the contradiction. Everybody has to face what they have to face. There is accountability, but it’s not bleak,” said Stoudt. “Even when you have to be accountable for something, life can go on.”
Season four promises more political intrigue, newsroom drama, and emotional reckonings as the characters navigate their personal and professional challenges in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
