CHENNAI — The Madras Mystery: Fall of a Superstar, a new period thriller movie, will be available to stream on SonyLIV starting November 6, 2025. Nazriya Nazim Fahadh is making a big comeback in the film. She is returning to Kollywood after a long break.
Ashif Pavapettadayil is making his first film as a filmmaker. It is a period criminal thriller set in British India in the 1940s. There isn’t a complete trailer out yet, but the advertising pictures make it look gloomy and moody. The story is based on the real-life Lakshmikanthan murder case, which was a controversy in which a journalist who wrote scandalous articles about movie stars was found dead in Madras. The movie will look at the trials that followed, the public uproar, and the questions that still surround the case. It will also give us a look into cinema and society before India became independent.
Getto Entertainment and Netru Indru worked together to make the movie. AL Vijay is also credited with the production, and IB Karthikeyan of Big Print Pictures is the producer.
Nazriya Nazim plays the main character, and there are also a lot of other famous actors in the cast, like Natty, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Nasser, and veteran actor YG Mahendran.
