Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the exciting news on Instagram, confirming that:
🎬 The Karate Kid (1984) will hit Indian theatres on March 21, 2025
🎬 The Karate Kid (2010) will return to cinemas in April 2025
The re-release comes as a build-up to Karate Kid: Legends, which will see Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio reprise their iconic roles as Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso.
The upcoming film introduces a new martial artist, played by Ben Wang, who is trained by Chan and Macchio’s characters. The first trailer, released in October last year, teases action-packed scenes in a martial arts academy, dramatic moments set in New York, and a powerful voice-over by Jackie Chan saying:
“In life, you only have one question: Is it worth fighting for or not?”
The original Karate Kid (1984) followed Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio) as he learned karate from Mr. Miyagi to face off against bullies in Los Angeles. The 2010 remake featured Jaden Smith as Dre Parker, trained by Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han in China.
Fans of the franchise can now relive the classics before diving into the new chapter with Karate Kid: Legends.
