According to police records that TMZ got, Melissa Rycroft, a 42-year-old reality TV personality renowned for her roles on “The Bachelor” and “Dancing With The Stars,” was detained last month in Texas on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
Reports say that the event happened on September 23 in Fort Worth, Dallas.

Rycroft, who started her career as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, was arrested for allegedly driving while drunk. Records show that she was held for more than eight hours before being released after paying a $1,000 bond.
TMZ reported that the reality actress would appear in court later this month to answer the accusations, but the exact type and number of DUI charges she faces are not yet public.
Lawyer Says Client Is Not Guilty
In the midst of all the media attention surrounding the arrest, Rycroft’s lawyer, Brett Martin, released a statement that stressed the most important part of the legal system: the presumption of innocence.
Martin told the people not to jump to conclusions too quickly:
“I want to remind everyone of the most important rule in our justice system: everyone is innocent until proven guilty.” My client was detained for allegedly driving while drunk. Being arrested doesn’t mean you’re guilty.”
He said that it was important to look at all aspects of the case attentively before coming to any judgments. This included “the actions of law enforcement, the toxicology results, and the facts surrounding her arrest.”
