Shashi Tharoor-Led Indian Delegation Meets Guyana Parliament, Highlights India’s Precision Strike After Pahalgam Attack

In a continuing diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, an all-party delegation led by Congress MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor met with Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of Guyana’s National Assembly, at the historic Original Parliament building, sharing India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and reinforcing its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.

🎯 India’s Calibrated Response to Terror

Speaking from the floor of the National Assembly, Tharoor explained India’s precision-based military action:

“Our government responded in a calibrated, measured, precise manner… not targeting civilians or military sites, but known terrorist facilities listed by the UN Sanctions Committee and US government.”

He emphasized India’s commitment to minimizing civilian harm, stating that the airstrikes were conducted at night specifically to avoid casualties, demonstrating restraint and moral responsibility.

Despite India’s care to avoid government or military installations, Pakistan responded with indiscriminate shelling, tragically killing 19 Indian civilians, including worshippers at a Gurdwara and a Christian convent.

🤝 Guyana Stands With India

Speaker Manzoor Nadir expressed solidarity, stating:

“Guyana respects India for its democracy and its contributions to the Global South.”

This acknowledgment reflects growing support from Caribbean and Latin American nations as India reaches out globally to build consensus against terrorism.

🔴 Operation Sindoor: Strategic Counterstrike

Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor followed the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. The Indian military response resulted in:

  • 100+ terrorists eliminated
  • Targets: Terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK
  • Groups struck: Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen

🌍 Multi-Party Diplomacy in Action

Tharoor’s delegation is one of seven multi-party teams dispatched to inform global partners of:

  • Pakistan’s terror links
  • India’s zero-tolerance policy
  • India’s diplomatic and military precision

This outreach reflects a unified national front, transcending party lines to safeguard national interests and global security.
