Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 01: Thailand celebrated a historic victory as Opal Suchata was crowned Miss World 2025 during the 72nd edition of the global beauty pageant, held in Hyderabad, Telangana. This win marks Thailand’s first-ever Miss World crown, making it a momentous occasion for the nation.
After her win, Opal described the moment as “surreal”, expressing disbelief and joy.
“I still couldn’t believe it. It was so unreal, because my people and I have been waiting for the first Miss World crown for more than 72 years,” she said, overwhelmed with emotion.
A Crown for a Cause
Opal emphasized her commitment to her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project, which focuses on breast cancer awareness and support.
“I’m glad that being here in Miss World, a lot of people now know more about my project. I believe this title will help me make more impact and support other causes as well,” she added.
Reflecting on the win, she called the crown the “highest and most honourable success” of her life but also stressed that true success lies in creating a better life for others.
India Misses the Final Cut
India’s representative, Nandini Gupta, who had earlier advanced to the Top 40 through the fast-track round, failed to secure a spot in the Top 8 finalists, dashing India’s hopes for the crown this year.
