Hyderabad (Telangana), March 19: In the ongoing assembly session, Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the state’s 2025-26 budget, emphasizing the government’s commitment to advancing technology, infrastructure, transport, and environmental conservation.
Vikramarka highlighted that the Musi Riverfront Development project has been launched as part of a broader vision to transform Hyderabad into a pollution-free city. He also outlined the state’s efforts to become a leader in clean energy and sustainable development with the formulation of a ‘Mega Master Plan 2050.’
“We are working towards making Hyderabad a global city that meets international standards, focusing on technology, transportation, infrastructure, and environmental conservation,” said Vikramarka. “The Musi Riverfront Project is one step towards this goal, and we aim to make Telangana a leader in modern technology and sustainable development.”
Vikramarka also noted that the state’s economic growth vision aims for a five-fold expansion, aiming to transform the current $200 billion state economy into a trillion-dollar one within the next decade.
The budget for 2025-26 proposes an overall expenditure of Rs 3,04,965 crore, with Rs 2,26,982 crore earmarked for revenue expenditure and Rs 36,504 crore for capital expenditure. Significant allocations include Rs 40,232 crore for Scheduled Caste (SC) welfare, Rs 17,169 crore for Scheduled Tribe (ST) welfare, Rs 11,405 crore for Backward Classes welfare, Rs 3,591 crore for minority welfare, and Rs 2,862 crore for women and child welfare.
Vikramarka, while addressing the assembly, stated, “Our policies reflect the aspirations of the people. The development initiatives cater to farmers, entrepreneurs, students, women, the elderly, daily wage workers, and IT professionals, ensuring inclusive growth for all.” He emphasized that the government’s goal is to set a benchmark for national progress through collective effort.
In his concluding remarks, the Finance Minister urged assembly members to extend unwavering support to the budget’s progressive initiatives, reinforcing that cooperation and determination would ensure Telangana’s bright and prosperous future.
