Jangaon, Telangana: A man was allegedly killed by his two wives in Telangana’s Lingana Ghanpur mandal after a heated confrontation turned violent on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Kalya Kanakaiah, who, according to reports, was a habitual alcohol abuser and had a history of domestic abuse.
Kanakaiah was married to Chukkamma and Shirisha, both of whom had reportedly endured years of harassment. Sources said that two months ago, Kanakaiah murdered the mother of his second wife Shirisha, 60-year-old Jhannu Bhai, while intoxicated in Gundala mandal. After the murder, he had fled the area but continued to return sporadically to threaten his wives and villagers.
On Monday, Kanakaiah once again returned to the village, allegedly demanding money from his wives. When they refused, he threatened to kill them, escalating the argument. The two women eventually overpowered him during the altercation, leading to his death.
In an attempt to dispose of the body, they reportedly dumped it in a canal near Yenabavi College. Locals later discovered the body and alerted the police.
Police have since registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Both Chukkamma and Shirisha are currently in custody and being questioned for their role in the incident.
