Hyderabad, May 5 — Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting on Monday to assess preparations for the upcoming Miss World 2025 pageant, set to take place in Hyderabad on May 31. The review was conducted at the Command Control Centre, with the participation of ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, CM’s advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, DGP Jitender, and other senior officials, according to a statement from the Telangana CMO.
The 72nd edition of the prestigious international event will be held at the HITEX Exhibition Centre, with contestants from over 120 countries expected to compete. In a bid to promote Telangana’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential, a vibrant itinerary of events has been planned leading up to the grand finale.
According to the Information & Public Relations Department, highlights include:
- A heritage walk through Charminar and Laad Bazaar on May 12
- A cultural visit to Chowmahalla Palace on May 13
- Trips to Warangal Fort, Thousand Pillar Temple, and Ramappa Temple on May 14, accompanied by a Perini dance performance
- Attendance at an IPL match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal on May 21
To welcome the global contestants and dignitaries, Shamshabad Airport has set up special lounges, help desks, and traditional welcome arrangements. Decorative arches highlighting Telangana’s cultural landmarks have been installed, and the slogan “Telangana Jaroor Aana” (“Must Visit Telangana”) is prominently featured across the city to promote tourism.
This marks the second consecutive year India is hosting the Miss World pageant. The reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, will pass on her crown to the new winner. Femina Miss India World 2023, Nandini Gupta, will represent India in the global competition.
With over 1.5 lakh international tourists visiting Telangana in 2024, the state government aims to further boost its image as a global tourist destination through this event.
