Telangana CM Reacts To Allu Arjun’s Arrest In Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has responded to the arrest of Telugu cinema superstar Allu Arjun in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident during the premiere of his film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. When asked about the matter, CM Reddy said:

“Let me find out, then I will tell you.”

According to sources, the Chief Minister emphasized that the law will take its course and assured that there would be no interference, underscoring that everyone is equal before the law.

Details of the Incident

The stampede occurred on December 4 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre when a large crowd of fans rushed into the venue following Allu Arjun’s arrival for the film’s premiere. The tragic event led to the death of Revathi, a 35-year-old woman, and injuries to her son, Shreethej, who is still hospitalized.

Police investigations into the incident culminated in the arrests of three individuals earlier and now the actor himself. The arrested individuals include:

  1. M. Sandeep – Owner of Sandhya Theatre.
  2. M. Nagaraju – Senior Manager of the theatre.
  3. Gandhakam Vijay Chander – In-charge of the lower balcony.

The police allege mismanagement of crowd control measures and dangerous practices at the venue contributed to the chaos.

Allu Arjun’s Arrest

Allu Arjun was brought to the Chikkadpally police station for questioning and later taken for a medical examination. His father, Allu Aravind, brother Allu Sirish, and father-in-law Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy were present at the police station during the proceedings.

The actor has approached the High Court (HC) seeking to quash the FIR filed against him. His legal team is pushing for an urgent hearing, citing procedural concerns and the need for a fair review of the case.

Public and Legal Repercussions

The tragic stampede has shocked fans and the general public, sparking debates on the responsibility of organizers and celebrities in such high-profile events. The incident highlights the need for:

  • Better crowd management practices.
  • Accountability among event organizers and stakeholders.

As the case unfolds, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victims while adhering to due legal processes.
