Tejasvi Surya Calls Pakistan A “Habitual Offender”, Says Operation Sindoor Will Teach It A Lasting Lesson

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, speaking during an ongoing diplomatic mission in the United States as part of India’s global anti-terrorism campaign, strongly criticised Pakistan, calling it a “habitual offender” in sponsoring terrorism. Surya asserted that “there is no delusion that Operation Sindoor will teach Pakistan a lesson for good.”

He cited repeated instances where Pakistani leadership openly declared hostile intent against India. “We have seen Pakistan’s Prime Minister declare, not once but multiple times, that they are in a war against India and that it’s state policy to beat India by a thousand cuts,” Surya said.

Emphasising India’s role on the global stage, Surya remarked that India’s counterterror efforts are not just domestic, but part of a broader international security objective. “India’s fight against terror is not just India’s fight alone. We are fighting the battle for the entire world,” he stated, noting that Pakistani nationals have been involved in attacks even on US soil.

“Every major terrorist attack, which includes blasts, more than 30 such cases have a Pakistani imprint,” Surya continued. “This is because when India hits, we are doing the job of the US as well.”

BJP MP Shashank Mani added, “Terrorists are really ‘Buzdil’, they attack civilians and therefore if we can get them to the place where they know there is a price to pay, over a period of time, it (terrorism) will come down.”

Earlier, while addressing the Indian diaspora in Washington, DC, Surya made a strong distinction between India and Pakistan. “No sane person, no reasonable thinking policymaker anywhere in the world will ever draw an equivalence between India and Pakistan… There will not be a bigger place, a better place than the United States of America to establish this message very firmly.”

He further highlighted that while India does not seek war, it will not remain passive. “India does not seek war. We have never sought war in our civilisation’s history… But if you attack us, not once, we are ready to do 100 Operation Sindoor,” he warned.

The bipartisan delegation led by Shashi Tharoor includes MPs from the BJP, Shiv Sena, Lok Janshakti Party, JMM, TDP, and former Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu. After concluding their Brazil visit, they arrived in Washington to apprise US lawmakers of Operation Sindoor, India’s diplomatic and military response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people and injured many more.
