Tejashwi Yadav Declares ‘RJD To Contest All 243 Seats’ In Bihar Amid Seat-Sharing Standoff

As tensions rise over seat-sharing, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has made a shocking statement that his party is ready to run in all 243 Assembly constituencies in Bihar. The comment, which was made at a rally in Muzaffarpur, is considered as a strong way to put pressure on Mahagathbandhan partners, especially the Congress, to agree to a good seat-sharing deal.

On Sunday, the Leader of the Opposition spoke to a huge group of party workers and said, “This time, Tejashwi will run for all 243 seats.” Tejashwi will fight in both Bochahan and Muzaffarpur. Please vote for me, everyone.

The comments have caused problems in the Mahagathbandhan, where tough talks are already going on. Sources say that Congress is asking for at least 70 seats, the same number it ran for in 2020, because of the recent “Voter Adhikar Yatra” conducted by Rahul Gandhi. The RJD, on the other hand, wants to run for at least 150 seats, but it is now under pressure to make room for new friends like the JMM and the LJP (Paras faction), which have just joined the coalition.

Experts and others who watch politics see Yadav’s “all-243” presentation as a plan with two goals. On the one hand, it’s a clear message to allies that the RJD won’t give up lightly and is ready to go it alone if they can’t agree on a solution. On the other hand, it’s a way for him to reaffirm his status as the coalition’s unofficial candidate for chief minister, which has been unclear since Rahul Gandhi recently avoided the matter.

BJP leaders have called Yadav’s statement an empty threat in response. A BJP official said that Yadav’s comments were meant to “pile on the pressure on the Congress and your allies.” They also said that the people of Bihar would vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The political situation in Bihar has gotten worse because of the internal gridlock and public posturing. The Mahagathbandhan is having a hard time showing a united face before the important state elections.
