Tejashwi Yadav And Rabri Devi Demand Nitish Kumar’s Resignation In Bihar Assembly

Patna (Bihar) [India], March 12: The Bihar Assembly was filled with high drama on Wednesday as Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi launched a blistering attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling for his resignation.

This uproar led to RJD MLAs walking out of the session, accusing the Chief Minister and the ruling NDA of disrespecting women, including Rabri Devi.

Former Bihar CM Rabri Devi did not hold back, accusing Nitish Kumar of disrespecting women. “Nitish Kumar consumes ‘bhaang’ and comes to the Assembly. He disrespects women, including me… He should reflect on the kind of work we did when we were in power. He speaks the words of the people around him, including his own party members and some BJP leaders,” she said.

Tejashwi Yadav also addressed the Assembly, demanding that Nitish Kumar resign. He criticized the CM’s leadership, saying, “Nitish Kumar should resign. My father, Lalu Yadav, became an MP before him. Nitish could never have become CM without our support. He should retire to an ashram because he is incapable of running the government. What is he doing with the future of 14 crore people? Nitish Kumar’s condition is unstable.”

The controversy began during the Assembly session on March 7, when Nitish Kumar accused the RJD of promoting dynastic politics. The Bihar CM targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav for appointing his wife, Rabri Devi, as CM when he was jailed in 1997 for the fodder scam.

“You (RJD leaders) belong to a party where a husband made his wife the CM. You (RJD women MLAs) have been made MLAs, but have you done any work for women? How much work have we done for women? Can you (RJD) even understand that?” Nitish Kumar had said in the Assembly.

In 1997, Lalu Prasad Yadav appointed his wife Rabri Devi as Chief Minister after he was forced to step down due to an arrest warrant related to the fodder scam.
